Medical Education in Japan.

My questions:
Hello
I have looked at the site but I have a few questions.
1. Is it possible to enter the universities of Japan after graduating from 11 summer school in Russia, or do I still need to complete one university course in Russia?
2. Can foreigners study to become a doctor in Japan at all?
3. Are there any quotas for training foreigners to become a doctor in Japan (and are there any quotas for Russians?)
4. How is training for a doctor arranged — is it six years or 2 years and then 4?
5. Which universities in Japan have hostels for students for the entire period of study (and are there any)?
6. What is the cost of studying and living in hostels and all other expenses per year when studying to be a Doctor in Japan (meaning the costs associated with studying — that is, payments for textbooks, laboratories, etc. — including of course food and transport)
7. What exams do I need to take other than Japanese?
8. Is it necessary to take preparatory and/or language courses in Japan before entering a university?
9. What is the further procedure for training as a doctor after graduation from the university (postgraduate study, residency, specialization) and obtaining a doctor’s license?
10. Can I stay in Japan after studying for a job?
I’m still only in the 9th grade (out of 11), but I think it’s time to collect information)
It’s good if you manage to answer all the questions, but I will be glad to partial answers.
Thanks
Answer:
Hello,
This is Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO).
Please refer to our reply to your inquiry as below.
Q1) Is it possible to enter the universities of Japan after graduating from 11 summer school in Russia, or do I still need to complete one university course in Russia?
A1) To enroll in higher educational institutes such as university, junior college, or professional training college, etc. in Japan, applicants must complete 12 years of formal education or have a foreign university admission certification, such as International Baccalaureate, Abitur, Baccalaureat, or GCE A-Level. Also, if you have completed the course of Obusheye Sredniye Obrazovanye in Russia, you will be able to enroll in a Japanese university even with 11 years of formal education.
If not, you need to study at university in Russia for 1 year or enroll in preparatory courses in Japan for international students who have not yet completed 12 years of formal education.
Please refer to following site for information about preparatory courses.
Q2) Can foreigners study to become a doctor in Japan at all?
A2) You need to study at university, faculty of medicine for 6 years. Then, you will take a national exam and obtain a Japanese medical license.
Q3) Are there any quotas for training foreigners to become a doctor in Japan (and are there any quotas for Russians?)
A3) We do not have information about this question.
Q4) How is training for a doctor arranged — is it six years or 2 years and then 4?
A4) After obtaining a medical license, you will be a medical trainee. For more details, please ask to the school(s) you are interested in.
Q5) Which universities in Japan have hostels for students for the entire period of study (and are there any)?
A5) We do not have detailed information. Please ask to the school(s) you are interested in.
Q6) What is the cost of studying and living in hostels and all other expenses per year when studying to be a Doctor in Japan (meaning the costs associated with studying — that is, payments for textbooks, laboratories, etc. — including of course food and transport)
A6) Please refer to following sites.
Academic Fees

The first year’s payment (entrance fee and facility use fee) is about 2 million yen. In addition, practical training fee will be charged.

Q7) What exams do I need to take other than Japanese?
A7) Please directly ask to the school(s) you are interested in, as each school has its own admission requirements.
Q8) Is it necessary to take preparatory and/or language courses in Japan before entering a university?
A8) Since a high level of Japanese language proficiency is required to enroll in a university in Japan, many international students study for one or two years at a Japanese language school before enrolling in a university.
As for degree programs taught in English, it is possible for those who have a high level of English language proficiency to directly enroll in a university.
Q9) What is the further procedure for training as a doctor after graduation from the university (postgraduate study, residency, specialization) and obtaining a doctor’s license?
A9) We do not have detailed information. Please ask to the school(s) you are interested in.
Q10) Can I stay in Japan after studying for a job? (and ideally for life)
A10) You must change your “student visa” to “work visa”. For more information about visa, please contact Immigration Services Bureau.
